Sign up to ‘Get into Retail’ with M&S 

Everyone has to start somewhere and if you’re interested in working in retail, this is the programme for you!  

The Prince’s Trust are running a ‘Get into Retail’ programme, delivered in partnership with Marks & Spencer. Taking part will offer you the chance to learn more about the retail industry, meet new people and gain valuable work experience in M&S. They’ll also help you with CV and interview skills. 

The programme will not only boost your confidence and employability skills, but you’ll also have the chance to benefit from online support from one of their mentors to help you uncover your next steps. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain training and on the job work experience, whilst boosting your employability and confidence! 

Young people taking part in the programme will get 4 weeks of training and work experience in a Marks and Spencer store. This is a blended programme so some of the training will be delivered online rather than face to face, but participants will work in store 4.5 days each week. All shifts will be Monday – Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm with an hour for lunch. 

To take part, participants must be available for the Taster Day on 22nd September and then must be available for 4 weeks from 2nd  October to the 27th October. Uniform, travel expenses and lunch will be funded throughout the 4 weeks of the programme and taking part in the programme does not affect benefits. After the 4 weeks placement if successful you will secure a 12-week paid contract on successful completion of the programme, leading to a potential permanent position.
