We are excited to launch our new strategy, setting out our commitment to creating a Scotland where all young people have a brighter future through access to sustainable, meaningful employment.

The strategy covers a wide range of aspects including setting the scene for the sector we are working within, celebrating our achievements over the previous 4 years, and outlining our key focus areas for the next two years. We are enthusiastic to focus on the following three areas:

  • Overcoming Barriers to Learning and Employment
  • Develop and Sustain Services That Meet the Needs of Young People and Employers
  • Give Young People a Voice

Ally Calder, Chief Executive of Helm, said:

“We are extremely proud to launch our new strategy which is a vital step to creating a brighter future for all young people across Scotland.  Our priority is to ensure the work we do is focussed and targeted at the ever-changing needs of young people and the wider employment climate. At every stage, our strategy has been guided by young people, as well as our staff and board members, and we are immensely grateful to everyone who has contributed to the strategy for their thoughts and insight.”

Alison Cartwright, Chair of Helm’s Board also tells us:

“Helm has been a part of the Dundee community for over 40 years’, and it is an honour to launch our new strategy which will continue to ensure young people will always be at the heart of our work. We are eager to pursue this work, broadening our reach across Tayside, Angus and North East Fife, and lead more young people to a brighter future.”
