Opportunities to gain SQA Qualifications
We are a fully accredited SQA centre offering a choice of National Progression Awards, Employment Awards and Coreskills.
Work Experience - You will have the opportunity to gain work experience from either our in house enterprises including our training garage or to work with employers throughout Dundee.
Jobs - You will be fully supported in creating CV’s, completing job applications, preparing for interviews and starting your journey into employment.
Transferable Skills - Option to participate in sessions to enhance your; Soft Skills; Emotional Intelligence; Creativity; Problem Solving and Working with Others.
College - We work very closely with Dundee and Angus College. You will have the chance to visit the college, attend personalised workshops, be assisted with a college application and interview. Further support is offered on a one to one basis after you start college.
Mentor Scheme - We care about what happens to you when you leave Helm. You will be given the opportunity to join our mentoring scheme, which links you with a trained mentor who is a community volunteer, and will keep in touch and support you with any challenges during your first months at college or in work.
Money - Most students (16+) are eligible to be paid a training allowance (£55/week) while working with us and/or having your expenses reimbursed.
Location - We are in the city centre with a 2 minute walk from the bus station at the Seagate.
Fitness - We have a fully fitted gym and the chance to train with Marc Navarro in a class with a maximum of 8 people!
Breakfast - Our student cafe is open from 8.45 to 9.30 Monday - Friday where students can meet and enjoy a Free breakfast before class.
