Helm provides a range of programmes which tackle many of the key issues that have hindered young people from thinking about establishing a career path. Helm works closely with Dundee Education Department and Skills Development Scotland and other support agencies to provide strands of training with different emphasis. These programmes include the important areas of numeracy, literacy, problem solving, IT and working with others, along with social skills, communication and addressing health issues.

Helm works with young people who often face challenges entering the job market. The programmes and in particular the vocational training options available through the LIVE It! Enterprise aim to give the learners a focus, with an emphasis on achieving through active participation. By enabling them to gain vocational skills and achieve personal development they are able to build up their confidence and take on the challenges of entering a competitive job market.
