Dundee Project
Helm is based at Sea Captain’s House on St Andrew’s
Lane, right in the heart of the city centre. The building, which
consists of an 18th century house linked to a warehouse building
boasts a colourful past, with one of the oldest working water-automated
lifts in Scotland. In 1995 the building was completely renovated
and customised as a training centre specifically for Helm Training,
with excellent facilities, including a gym, IT suite, careers information room, library area and a catering kitchen. The centre can facilitate
training for around 60 young people at one time. A huge investment
programme has been carried out during 2006-2007 to ensure the continued
protection of this historic building. |
Angus Project
Established in 2005, the Angus Centre based
in Arbroath, provides a central base for developing a mix of vocational
and lifeskills of young people in the area. There is an IT room,
practical skills areas, a quiet room for encouraging reading, kitchen
and breakfast club room, and an area outside housing a container
garden. Angus can work with around 10 young people at any one time.
